The trophy was purchased in 1954 by Associates to commemorate 50 years of managing their own affairs, authority for which was given in 1904.

The AGC Medal was held on Thursday, 28 April and Friday, 29 April 2022. The format is a 36 hole stroke play (scratch) event played over two consecutive days, open to women Amateurs with a GA Handicap limit of 12.0 at the time of entry.

Due to the recent rainfall prior to the event, golf carts were not permitted, however a field of 82 players teed off in round 1. The early players proved to have the luck of the draw with weather conditions turning to rain for the latter part of the field, and this was evident with some great scores posted by the first groups. The AGC Foundation girls featured strongly within the Round 1 leaders with Annika Rathbone scoring 70, Abbey Bull 72 and Charlotte Perkins and Suzanne Fairhurst (Bonnie Doon) tied on 73. Best net score was Caroline Broun (Royal Sydney) with an amazing 66.

Round 2 was blessed with warm, sunny weather and once again the scoring was low. All competitors thoroughly enjoyed their round and the lunch in the Clubhouse, with many compliments from players.

Congratulations to all prize winners and especially our Foundation girls who managed to take out 1st place – Annika Rathbone with her consistent golf scoring 140, 2nd place – Abbey Bull 143 and 3rd place – Charlotte Perkins. Although the best net scores were Abbey with 137 and Annika Rathbone 140, as Scratch prize winners are unable to also win Net, the winner was Kim Burke (Shelly Beach) with 141.

Annika’s win was attributed to commencing round 2 with ten straight par’s for a bogey free round and included birdieing the 10th hole on both days.
