On Tuesday, 14 May 2019 The Australian Senior Medal was contested by 96 players over the age of 55 years. The event is held each year in May and is also run in conjunction with the NSW Senior Classic along with The Lakes Senior Medal (Monday) and The Avondale Senior Medal (Wednesday).
Conditions were excellent with light Westerly winds and clear skies. Congratulations to Geoff Cranfield (Long Reef GC) who recorded an even par round of 72 strokes, defeating the defending champion Lester Peterson (Bardwell Valley GC) by 1 stroke. The overall net winner was David McClelland (Wyong Golf Club – handicap 5) with a score of 71 strokes net. The 65 years + division was won by Roy Vandersluis (The Lakes GC) with a score of 76 strokes.
